The programme for the acquisition of competences needed for the recognition of qualifications in the fields of fine arts and music has been created in response to the requests by the students who have completed their studies of fine arts and music abroad.
The courses that they often did not have the opportunity to attend have been identified by the Ministry of Science and Education, i.e. its professional committee for establishing the appropriate educational qualifications when looking for a job in the Republic of Croatia as a primary or secondary school teacher in the fields of fine arts and music.
In its recommendations for further education by attending classes and passing course exams, the professional committee instructs candidates to go to those universities in the Republic of Croatia that offer the above mentioned programmes as part of the life-long education. The University of Zagreb already offers such programmes, but since there is a certain number of students from the region who are closer to Osijek, the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek has decided to offer this programme of life-long learning.
Upon completion of the programme students acquire the knowledge of the methods of teaching art courses, that is, the national art history. This type of knowledge is necessary for a successful teaching process in the Republic of Croatia on the level of primary and secondary schools.
Enrolment conditions
The programme for the acquisition of competences needed for the recognition of qualifications in the fields of fine arts and music is primarily intended for the candidates who have completed a study of fine arts and music abroad and who have not taken the courses offered by this programme – Teaching Methods, Psychology of Education and National Art History in order for their qualifications to be recognised for the employment purposes in the Republic of Croatia.
