About the Centre
The main purpose of the Centre for Arts and Sciences “Leonardo” is to promote great artistic and scientific works at the Academy and to improve the visibility of the Academy in these segments, focusing on the projects which combine artistic and scientific domains from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Goals
The main goals of the Centre include planning, organisation and coordination of the scientific and artistic research work. The intention of the Centre is to become a place within the Academy of Arts and Culture where different scientific areas, fields and disciplines will meet. The Centre provides infrastructural and methodological support to all the scientific and artistic research projects of the Academy. The activities of the Centre are the result of the considerable diversity of the scientific and artistic work at our institution. The function of the Centre is, therefore, documentary, project oriented and innovative in order to improve the scientific position of the institution in general as well as the project assignments of its members in artistic-teaching or scientific-teaching grades. We wish to make the Centre the starting point and organisational drive of scientific and artistic research at the Academy, i.e. to be the meeting point of all the initiatives that represent our institution as the place of contemporary scientific and artistic production. The Centre will provide professional and logistical support to all the departments when organising scientific meetings and guest lectures, publishing books and conducting scientific research in general. Also, one of the most important goals of “Leonardo” is to combine art and science, encouraging the creative and insightful meeting of these traditionally separate areas.
The Centre will focus on the following activities:
- development of research based on artistic practice
- participation of the employees of the Academy in national and international scientific projects
- development of internal scientific projects
- affirmation of scientific publishing, scientific/professional publications and textbooks, scientific and professional journals
- coordination of guest lectures at the Academy and the stimulation of various forms of cooperation between guest lecturers and the teachers of the Academy

In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, especially in terms of national and international significance, the strategic partner of the Centre for Arts and Sciences “Leonardo” is the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Osijek.
