Upon completion of the programme students will be able to work with oil paints on their own while painting on canvas. They will learn to prepare different painting surfaces for oil painting (canvas, wood, paper and other surfaces). They will be able to differentiate between the techniques of oil painting on canvas, such as tone and colour painting, wash, impasto and wet on wet painting. They will learn about different tools required by the techniques and they will be able to use them properly in their artistic work. During the initial phase, they will learn how to sketch with a pencil or directly with a brush, to underpaint and work on specific motifs of painting: composition, portrait, nude or figure.
Upon completion of the programme students will learn to create a portfolio of their works which will be presented at a one-day exhibition at the premises of the Academy that will be open for the public. This will provide every student with an opportunity to evaluate their oil painting skills and an insight into their personal artistic expression.
