Project description

The project applies a postmodern methodology, joining the most recent studies of the Balkan cultural and literary-philosophical context. The starting point is the fact that the Yugoslav idea marked the formation of cultural and political identities in the (post) Yugoslav territories. It therefore defines the idea of (south) nostalgia as one of the belated derivatives of the image of utopian Yugoslavia. As this idea is still present in the Croatian post-socialist public sphere and that all those political-cultural strategies that attempt to stigmatize it in any way are wrong, the project looks at all its present, post-socialist and emancipative political potential in the context of the narratives of socialist experience and memories of (Tito’s) socialism.
