ABOUT THE CENTRE
Mission
The Centre’s mission is to provide a stimulating environment for education, research, and the advancement of illustration and video game visual arts in all their forms. It serves as a platform for fostering critical thinking, aesthetic judgment, and professional competence in the fields of illustration, video game visual arts, and visual storytelling. Particular emphasis is placed on equipping students for both independent and collaborative work in artistic and media contexts through:
- the analysis and critical evaluation of artistic and media genres,
- the development of characters and narratives in accordance with technical and conceptual requirements,
- the creation of complex visual and narrative concepts,
- the responsible and ethical design of visual content intended for the public,
- the creative interpretation of cultural, artistic, and social phenomena.
Vision
The Centre contributes to the advancement of illustration and video game visual arts as hybrid artistic and communicative forms and actively participates in shaping the cultural life of the community. It establishes and sustains networks with national and international educational, cultural, and industry partners in order to continuously develop teaching content, research and development initiatives as well as professional opportunities for students. The Centre fosters dialogue through exhibitions, workshops, public lectures, and collaborative projects, with the aim of enriching visual literacy and engaging with socially relevant issues.
Objectives
The Centre’s objectives are to strengthen and affirm illustration and video game visual arts as autonomous forms of visual expression within higher education, artistic research, and cultural practice. It seeks to encourage the production and critical valorisation of illustration and visual arts—particularly in the context of video games—through theoretical, practical, and interdisciplinary engagement with contemporary artistic and media phenomena.
