Organized by the Center for Creative Industries, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek, a professional lecture on the organization of cultural events was held, led by Mr. Matko Topić from the City of Varaždin. As a long-time organizer involved in the implementation of Varaždin’s most prominent cultural events, the lecturer provided students with valuable insights into the complexity and importance of managing large-scale cultural projects.
During the lecture, special emphasis was placed on events such as Špancirfest and the Varaždin Baroque Evenings, which are recognized as events of national significance and play a key role in the development of cultural tourism and the identity of the city of Varaždin.
Students had the opportunity to hear first-hand experiences related to the organization of major festivals – from planning and logistics, to collaboration with artists and partners, as well as promotion and audience development. The lecturer highlighted the importance of creativity, adaptability, and teamwork in the successful realization of cultural projects.
