/ Design for Performing and Media Arts

This study programme offers you the opportunity to independently complete costume and stage design assignments. You will also learn to create puppets and visual identity for animated films. This may sound unusual, but it is true: you will combine the traditional theatre with other contemporary media such as the theatre, TV and film production as well as 3D modelling. First, you will have to learn the basics of modelling and then you will be ready for the contemporary performing and artistic practices, film and TV production or digital media. We are fairly confident that you will be delighted by the endless possibilities of creative combinations of specialised and seemingly incompatible media.

What will you do here?

• You will learn about different materials used in costume, stage and puppet design.
• You will learn about 3D modelling used in performing arts.
• You will discover the latest technologies and procedures.
• You will learn about the theatre, film and new media as well as how they interact with other professions.
• You will independently go through the whole process of creating an animated film.

What will you do after the study?

• You will design and create costumes, stage sets, props, puppets and puppet stage sets.
• You will use costume, stage and puppet design in theatres, on TV and film.
• You will carry out independent artistic and commercial projects.
• You will be part of complex teams which are in need of costume, stage and puppet designers.
