/ About the Department

By studying at the Department of Visual and Media Arts, students will acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of visual arts - from drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture to photography and video/film making. These skills and knowledge will enable them to express their own attitudes about the contemporary world as a predominantly visual image of reality.

Upon completion of the undergraduate study programme, students will be able to use their technical and theoretical competences in order to enter the world of art as freelance artists. Specific types of knowledge required by their further artistic development are offered by these graduate study programmes:

fine arts education – promoting fine arts knowledge while working in primary and secondary schools;

illustration – illustrating books, posters, cartoons, i.e. acquiring knowledge that can be incorporated in the world of popular virtual reality, design and video games;

visual art – combining art and disciplines which are not necessarily artistic by means of theory, design, marketing and one’s own artistic work.
