We invite you to “The Visual Languages of Puppetry”, the first scientific/professional conference about the visual elements in performing arts which will take place on the 30th and 31st of March 2026 in Virovitica as part of the international puppetry review “Lutkokaz”.
The conference is a part of the research project entitled “Culture, Identity and Sustainability: New Scientific Paradigms of Traditional and Contemporary Cultural Spaces (KultID)” which has been initiated by the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek and the Academy of Arts and Culture. The project is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
This year, the conference will focus on fine arts, technology and dramaturgy as the important aspects of traditional and contemporary puppets and puppetry as well as on the visual elements of stage play in puppetry – yesterday, today, tomorrow.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- the abstract which includes 250-300 words and 5 keywords should be sent to: itretinjak@aukos.hr
- conference languages: English and Croatian
- duration of presentations: 15 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion
- participants do not pay conference fee, only travel and accommodation costs
- conference papers will be published
