Dr. Snježana Barić-Šelmić is a postdoctoral researcher at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek, since April 7, 2021, while since January 23, 2017, she had been a teaching assistant at the Department of Cultural Studies of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, and with the merger of the Department of Cultural Studies and the Art Academy in Osijek, since May 30, 2018 she has been a teaching assistant at the Academy of Art and Culture in Osijek. As an assistant (Department of Cultural Studies), she taught at the mandatory workshops Propaganda in Media Culture, Exhibition in the Library, then participated in conducting seminar classes and exercises, as well as conducting colloquia and exams in the courses Sociology of Culture, Imagology of Culture, New Media Genres, Gender and Media, Textuality and Narrative in Media Culture, Media culture in Central Europe, Media art, Intermediality in media culture. With the merger of the Department of Cultural Studies and the Academy of Arts in Osijek, at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek – Department of Culture, Media and Management, she participates in teaching at the mandatory workshops Propaganda in Media Culture, Social Media and Information Literacy, participated in the seminar classes and exercises, as well as conducting colloquiums and exams in the courses Sociology of Culture, Imagology of Culture, New Media Genres, Gender and Media, Textuality and Narrative in Media Culture, Media Culture in Central Europe, Media Art, Media Theories and Society, Theatrology and culture, Rhetoric and culture, Organization of media campaigns. As of the academic year 2021/2022, he teaches the courses Organization of media campaigns, Visual semiotics, Social media, Image and brand development, Project Management 1 and 2.

In March 2021, under the mentorship of Associate Professor Ph.D. Željko Pavić and co-mentor Associate Professor, Ph.D. Boris Badurina, successfully defends her doctoral dissertation entitled Generational Value Differences and their Influence on the Use of Social Networks at the Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Doctoral study in Cultural Studies, the scientific field of Information and Communication in Culture – Module: Media Culture – Media Research at the Doctoral School of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Science. In February 2015, at the Faculty of Philosophy in Osijek – Department for lifelong education, sub-department for psychological-pedagogical-didactic-methodical training, she obtained a license of professional teaching competencies. In October 2014, she completed Masters in interdisciplinary university study of Culturology, majoring in Media Culture at the Department of Cultural Studies of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and obtained the academic title of Master of Cultural Studies – majoring in media culture (mag.cult.). In June 2012, she completed the undergraduate interdisciplinary university study of Culturology, majoring in Media Culture at the Department of Cultural Studies of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and obtained the academic title of university bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies, majoring in media culture (univ.bacc.cult.). Previous work experience encompassesthe financial sector when he started working at Slavonska banka d.d. Osijek, 1996 as a professional associate in the Bank’s Management Office. In the period from 2000 to 2008, she was employed as the director of the Management Board’s Office, Marketing and Public Relations of Slavonska banka d.d. Osijek. By merging Slavonska banka d.d. Osijek and Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank d.d.  Zagreb, in 2008, she became the Marketing Director of Hypo Alpe-Adria-banka d.d. Zagreb, at which position she remained until 2016, when the bank was sold and changed its name to Addiko bank d.d. Zagreb. In her many years of work in marketing and public relations, she launched, among other things, the first internet site of Slavonska banka in 1998, participated in and led several rebranding processes, participated in and led several negotiations with international audit firms on the topics of communications, rebranding, brand values, marketing strategy and actively participated in the creation of business and communication strategies of banks in that period, as well as being the chief and executive editor of several banking magazines (for children, teenagers, Times and EU Times).

Since 2017, she has been employed at the Department of Cultural Studies of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, that is, following the merger of the Department and the Academy of Arts, in 2018, she has been employed at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek, at the Department of Culture, Media and Management.

She participated in series of domestic and foreign scientific conferences and symposia and was a member of several organization committees of scientific conferences.

She is the editor-in-chief of the website, as well as all social networks of the Academy of Arts and Culture.
