This programme is in demand among a wide range of users due to insufficient knowledge of the graphics/computer software, i.e. tools, in order to implement creative ideas. Today, computer technology predominates. There are a lot of self-taught users so there is a great demand for a good programme in that field. This programme offers an introduction to Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. With these tools, students will be able to develop and implement their ideas. It includes the whole process of preparing digital graphics and graphics that is to be printed.
Upon completion of the programme students will learn to create a portfolio of their works which will be presented at a one-day exhibition at the premises of the Academy that will be open for the public. This will provide every student with an opportunity to evaluate their computer design skills and an insight into their personal artistic expression.
The general goal of the course:
– define the main notions of computer graphics
– learn about certain forms and formats of electronic publishing / depending on the course content
– introduction to typography
– logotype development
– introduction to visual identity
– learning about the book of standards
– commercial and alternative use of design (promotional material, advertisements, interior decoration)
Adobe Photoshop – image processing using computers
– retouching photographs, editing, applying effects to photographs, editing texts, making colour and tone corrections to digital photographs, using filters.
Adobe InDesign – page layout and preparations for publication
– page layout of all kinds of printed or digital publications
– usage of colour profiles, creation of complex publications, adjustment of various settings when working with PostScript documents and their complete control when creating PDF files.
Adobe Illustrator – graphic drawing
– creating logotypes, advertisements, booklets, posters, accreditation systems, vector illustrations and any other design used in printing, electronic publishing or web.
Applied Graphics
– introduction to basic visual and composition principles in design
– usage of visual design for commercial and other purposes, development of personal artistic expression in design.
