Introduction to Art History and Fine Arts

Posted on Posted in Razno

Since Art History is the only theoretical segment that is being tested at the entrance exams of fine arts academies, there is a great demand for this type of programme.

This programme introduces the basic notions of the theoretical field of art history. It offers a possibility for upgrading the art history programme of secondary schools which is quite concise and often omitted, thus offering additional general knowledge.

The purpose of this programme is to provide an introduction to the main characteristics of different styles throughout art history from prehistory to the present day.

Upon completion of the programme students will:

– be able to analyse and understand the value of works of art

– learn theories about techniques, motifs, fine arts language and syntax

– learn to differentiate between the main characteristics of different styles throughout art history from prehistory until the present day, using both the reproductions of works of art and the original works of art in museums or at exhibitions.
