Project description:

The project is the result of the collaboration between the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek and the US Rider University, and is in line with strategic goals in higher education related to the internationalization of higher education and its integration into the European and world higher education space. Professors from Rider University from the USA participated in the realization of the planned outcomes. Prof. Boris Vilic, MBA, Dean of the College of Continuing Studies & Westminster Continuing Education, delivered a lecture on “The Development and Importance of Online Learning” to present the historical evolution of online learning in the US, which is still considered a novelty in our country. In the 1990s, even today, it accounts for about 30% of higher education. The lecture by prof. Vilic, “Academic Authenticity and the Prevention of Plagiarism” referred to ways in which the authenticity of student papers can be verified, thus protecting the integrity of not only the subject and the professor, but of the entire higher education institution. Dr. Heeyoung Kim, director of the Faculty Development of the Teaching and Learning Center at Rider University, held many hands-on workshops on creating online courses to develop the competencies of teaching staff, but also as part of the Croatian Studies project, created in collaboration with the organizers of this event and the Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP). The peculiarity of this programme is that it will be run entirely in an online environment in English. In addition to its artistic projects, the Academy of Arts and Culture begins to profile it in the realization of educational and scientific content programmes in the international environment.
