Modelling of Ceramics and Working with a Potter’s Wheel

Posted on Posted in Razno

This programme, just like the other programmes of life-long learning of the Academy of Arts and Culture, is the result of the lack of artistic/educational content in the city of Osijek. This programme is a sequel to the “Applied Ceramics” programme.

This programme is a result of the cooperation between the teachers of the Academy and the economy sector, i.e. the representatives of the ceramic craft in the region with a rich tradition of creating and teaching different techniques of modelling ceramic objects: coil, slab and potter’s wheel.

Upon completion of the programme students acquire the basic and advanced knowledge and skills in the field of ceramics modelling:

  • coil and slab modelling
  • making of moulds
  • work on the potter’s wheel
  • enamel
  • baking procedures

Students will develop their motor and visual skills.

Upon completion of the programme students will learn to independently work with ceramics. Their work will be presented at a one-day exhibition at the premises of the Academy that will be open for the public. This will provide every student with an opportunity to evaluate their ceramics modelling skills and an insight into their personal artistic expression.
