Iris Tomic, born in 1996 in Osijek. She graduated in Production at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb in 2021. As part of the undergraduate study of Production, she received two Rector’s Awards. In addition, she achieved numerous university and academic collaborations, and in the first year of graduate studies, she received the Dean’s Award for the production of the play “DeSADU.” Furthermore, during her undergraduate and graduate studies, she participated in various conferences on cultural policies, film distribution, etc., and spent one semester at Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu, Romania.
So far, she has collaborated with several production companies, art organizations, associations, and theaters (Jaako dobra produkcija, Kultura promjene, u.o. Teatar Exit, u.o. StudioChekhov Croatia, udruga Oksimoron, udruga Dizajn Centar Zagreb, Baba i Deda d.o.o, u.o. Zagreb Film Festival, u.o. Auzvinkl, Agencija 404, etc.) on various projects. In addition, she created and led a few workshops (2 workshops for high school students and 1 for students in Pula, “Introduction to Michael Chekhov’s technique” in StudioChekhov Croatia in Zagreb). Furthermore, she was one of the mentors to students of FERITOS and AUK on the project “Digitization of the cultural heritage of Bale.” In the summer of 2021, along with Sven Latinović, she produced her first feature film, “Frka.” The premiere will be in early 2023.
Since the first year of college, she has participated in the Michael Chekhov International Summer Academy in Grožnjan as a producer and participant and has participated in several EU-funded projects (EDUlab Policy, IRO; This is us !, Erasmus + Youth Exchange, etc. .)
She is an assistant in the Department of Theater Arts at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek. She is also a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek.
